BBQ SAFETY

1. There have been a number of tragic deaths nationally from carbon monoxide poisoning linked to the use of barbecues within tents, camping structures and caravans

2. Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless, tasteless poisonous gas produced by incomplete burning of carbon based fuels, including gas, oil, wood and coal

3. Levels of the gas can build up very quickly to levels that can make someone unwell or result in a fatality

4. Approximately 4,000 people attending Accident and Emergency each year are diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning

5. When CO enters the body it prevents the blood from bringing oxygen to cells, tissues and organs. It can cause symptoms such as headaches, drowsiness, nausea and vomiting

6. CO can kill quickly, in minutes, without warning and even low levels of the poison can cause lasting damage to health

7. Campers have lost their lives after taking lit barbecues into tents or caravans for warmth. A lit or smouldering barbecue should never be taken into a tent, tent awning, camping pod, caravan or campervan

8. Similarly portable gas stoves are not designed to be used inside such structures. They should be kept clean, in good working order and should only be used outside in a suitably ventilated area

9. It is tempting to move cooking equipment inside when the weather is poor, but this can quickly lead to a potentially deadly build-up of poisonous gas

10. Anyone who thinks they may have been exposed to carbon monoxide fumes should seek medical advice immediately

FACILITIES

1. Facilities within the campsite include: toilets, disabled toilets, showers, food stalls, 24 hour security, medical and welfare presence, lighting and rubbish bins. Please respect our communal areas and try to leave these tidy/clean

2. We have several fresh water taps around the site for you to use for free. Please try to keep the taps off when not in use so that we do not run out or create a swamp/bog hazard. Please respect our communal areas

3. Wincanton Racecourse is a working racecourse and golf club in an attractive rural area. Please help us by keeping it clean and tidy. Please ensure you do not leave anything other than 'general waste' in the designated areas – please take all large items home with you e.g. tents, chairs, sleeping bags etc.

CANCELLATION

1. If the festival is cancelled, the organisers Bearfoot Productions Ltd and Rock n Ribs Festival shall not be liable for any costs or expenses incurred by the ticket holder, including but not limited to the ticket cost, transportation and accommodation costs or any other losses of any kind. The organisers reserve the right to change and amend the festival programme without prior notification and cannot be held responsible for acts/exhibitors who cancel. Refunds cannot be issued if a particular artist does not appear or performs on a different day

IMPORTANT POINTS FOR A SAFE AND HAPPY FESTIVAL

1. Ensure you know where your nearest emergency exits are

2. Follow any instructions given by Stewards, Security and Police

3. Move away from any dangerous or antisocial behaviour. Notify Security if you see any antisocial or dangerous behaviour on site

4. Move to where there is more space if you see a crowd surge occur

5. Ask for help if you need it and help others, especially if someone falls

6. Stay calm - if you're in distress, ask to be taken to the Welfare Tent

7. Look after yourself and those around you, even people you don't know. If you suspect somebody is unwell take them to a first aid or welfare area/tent. If they are not responding please alert a Steward immediately who will call for the necessary help. Please don't attempt to move them as you may do more harm than good

8. If you need to take medication regularly remember to bring it and let your friends know of any illness or allergies you may have and where your medication is stored
